Family left heartbroken as tragic Sheffield schoolboy, 16, found dead at family home

A Sheffield family has been left heartbroken after the sudden death of a teenage boy at his home.

Louis Sleney, aged 16, died at his home on Oldfield Road, Stannington, on Thursday, February 13.

Paramedics were initially called to the house and then South Yorkshire Police was alerted to the situation.

When officers arrived at the property, Louis, a pupil at Notre Dame High School, was found dead.

The cause of death has not yet been ascertained but it is not being treated as suspicious.

An inquest into the death has been opened and adjourned for enquiries to be carried out.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Officers were called to a house on Oldfield Road at around 8.30pm on February 13 by the ambulance service.

“On arrival, officers found the body of a 16-year-old boy.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner.”
