Clam and Cork, which is based within Doncaster Fish Market, picked up the award for best speciality restaurant at the 2020 Oliver Awards, which celebrate the best of Yorkshire’s food and drink.
A spokesman for the restaurant, which was established in 2018, said: “What a catch for Doncaster.
“We're getting on the map for all the right reasons!
“Our team would like to thank all of our friends and customers and whoever put us up for this award.
“This was not only a very special occasion for the Clam and Cork but for Doncaster Market who provide most of our produce.”
Look North presenter and host Harry Gration said: “The judges say ‘as food memories go, this is up with the best' and the restaurant was classed in similarity to the world famous Mercardo de la Boqueria in Barcelona.
Laura Collins, the editor of the Yorkshire Evening Post, said: "Within this room there are some of the most talented, creative and ambitious people from brewers to bar staff and fine dining chefs."
But, she added, they all had one thing in common and that was "passion and dedication" to the industry.
