Doncaster rock star John Parr is confirmed for 80s Rewind Festival
Doncaster rock star John Parr will roll back the years this summer after being confirmed as one of the galaxy of music stars taking part in a huge 80s festival.
The Sykehouse-based singer-songwriter has been added to the bill at Rewind – the world’s biggest 80s music festival.
John, who achieved worldwide success with the classic St Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion) in 1985, has become a regular at the festival in recent years.
The festival is split across three venues – Rewind Scotland, which will take place at Scone Palace, Perth from July 17-19, Rewind North, which will be held at Capesthorne Hall, Macclesfield from July 31-August 2 and Rewind South, which will be staged Temple Island Meadows, Henley-on-Thames from August 14-16.
All three festivals will close on Saturday with Jimmy Somerville’s Big Band-Tastic Boogie – a show especially created for the festivals – and Wet Wet Wet on the Sunday.
The festival will also see performances by Billy Ocean, Bananarama, Trevor Horn Band, Nick Heyward, Roland Gift of Fine Young Cannibals, Hue And Cry, Grandmaster Flash, The Christians and Pete Wylie – The Mighty Wah!
Each festival will be opened by a unique show celebrating 50 years since the formation of one of the world’s greatest rock bands – Queen.
Queen Symphonic features a full symphony orchestra, a fantastic rock band and four soloists from the international productions of the musical We Will Rock You performing some of Queen’s greatest hits.
