As usual, regular judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace are once again casting their opinions on the amateur chefs creations, while Michelin starred guest chef Tom Kitchin will be joining them for the semi-final.

Those who make it to the later stages will also face the judgment of a team of food critics, including Grace Dent, Jay Rayner, Tom Parker Bowles, William Sitwell and Jimi Famurewa.

The Signature Dish round requires the six contestants to bring a selection of ingredients from home that will give them the edge they need to stand out from their competitors. They have an hour and 15 minutes to deliver an impressive plate of food.

The two best cooks who wow Torode and Wallace with their edible creation will earn themselves a MasterChef apron and go straight through to the third round cooking for past MasterChef winners and finalists.
