Bawtry based John Pinder was featured on last night’s episode of the fun quiz where celebrity panellists have to work out who is telling the truth and who is telling lies from a string of outrageous stories.

John, who works for family-funeral firm W.E. Pinder and Son, appeared in the ‘This Is My….’ round where panelists on one team tell the opposing team about their relationship to the guest; only one account out of three told is genuine, and the opposing team has to work out which it is.

Celebrity vicar the Rev Kate Bottley announced that John had taken her to the National Funeral Exhibition “or as I like to call it, the Hearse of the Year Show,” she joked, while fellow panellist Ed Gamble claimed he was a burglar who’d hidden behind a shower curtain in his flat.

Captain Lee Mack claimed that he knew John because he had named his son after Mack, after the comedian had supposedly helped his wife give birth in a library.

The reverend told how the pair had had ‘a great day out’ at the event, climbing inside coffins, buying top hats for undertakers and a larger fridge for his funeral director premises.

She added: “I also had a go on a gravedigging machine. That was a lot of fun.”

However, opposing panellists Claudia Winkleman and David Mitchell cottoned onto Kate and correctly guessed that she was connected to John.
