Doncaster charity delivers 'thinking of you' gift bags to dementia patients

A Doncaster charity set up to help people with dementia has delivered dozens of gift bags to patients to help during the coronavirus lockdown.

Donmentia, the Doncaster based group which offers help and support to people with dementia, has sent out more than 40 of the bags to homes all over the town in recent weeks.

Volunteers have been packing up bags containing toiletries, hand sanitiser, sweets and home made cakes to help lift spirits during the lockdown.

A Donmentia spokesman said: “Being stuck at home at this current time can be a challenge for many but imagine being a carer of someone affected by dementia and having to stay home?

“40 “thinking of you” goody bags have been delivered across Doncaster with more to follow each week.”
