D-Day 80th Anniversary: Watch as Sheffield remembers the Normandy landings in touching ceremony

Sheffield city centre fell silent today as a touching ceremony remembered the Normandy landings.

On the 80th Anniverary of the D-Day landings which turned the tide of the Second World War, Sheffield, like many other locations across the country, held a quiet, touching ceremony attended by numerous veterans and members of the public.

In a moment of reflection to the tune of the Last Post, the flag atop the cenotaph in Sheffield city centre was held at half-mast.

Sheffield City Council CEO, Kate Josephs, spoke with The Star's Harry Harrison after the ceremony about remembering those who lost their lives in France.
