City centre street in Sheffield changes its name

One of Sheffield’s city centre streets has been officially renamed, to honour members of the Caribbean community who have settled here from the 50s and 60s.

Willey Street, which is just off The Wicker, is now known as Windrush Way.

A new street sign was put up on July 16.

Sheffield Flourish, one of the city’s mental health charities who has offices on that street, said: “We are proud to now be working from Windrush Way!”
