Body found in search for missing Sheffield man
A body has been found in the search for a Sheffield man, who was last seen at his home on Thursday.
Philip Ridsdale was last seen at his home in the Highfields area on Thursday, March 26.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said Mr Ridsdale was reported as missing shortly after midday today (Saturday, March 28) after he had not returned home and his family had not heard from him, despite efforts to get in touch.
Police searching for Mr Ridsdale have now found a body in the Heeley area of Sheffield.
“While formal ID (identification) is yet to take place, officers do believe it to be that of Mr Ridsdale.
“Philip's family have been notified and are being supported at this time,” the spokesman added.
Mr Ridsdale was believed to have links to the Peak District and Humberside, and appeals for information had been shared with residents living in those areas.
