Anel Ahmedhodzic: Sheffield United star announces exciting baby news as he shares photo on Instagram account

Sheffield United’s Anel Ahmedhodzic has capped off a great weekend for the club by sharing some very exciting personal news.

The Blades defender, who hails from Bosnia and Herzegovina, announced on Instagram last night that his partner is pregnant and is expecting a baby boy. He posted a photo showing a positive pregnancy test beside a picture of the baby scan, with him and his partner holding hands as they announced the exciting news to his followers. The 23 year-old captioned the photo: “You carrying my son is the best gift I could ever get Alhamdulillah.”

The Instagram post has been met with a fantastic response from fans and players. Teammate Rhian Brewster said: “Congratulations Lil man.” Oli McBurnie, Sheffield United and Scotland striker, said: “Congratulations brother.” Other Blades teammates such as John Egan, Daniel Jebbison and Oliver Arblaster also sent messages to Ahmedhodzic. His Bosnia and Herzegovina international teammate, and former Manchester City striker, Edin Dzeko also expressed his congratulations in a comment beneath the Instagram post.

The news rounds off a fantastic weekend for Ahmedhodzic after Sheffield United ran out 0-1 winners away at Cardiff City on Saturday.

Despite not being involved in the game at the weekend, Ahmedhodzic has had a great start to his Sheffield United career since moving to South Yorkshire in the summer transfer window. He has made 15 appearances for the Blades this season, earning a place in the starting line-up in 13 of them. He has also notched up an impressive amount of goal involvements for a central defender, scoring four times and assisting twice.
