1. Amy and Emma Barber
Twin sisters Amy and Emma have been nominated by their proud mum Helen, who says they have 'worked all the way through and worked hard in this pandemic'. Photo: UGC
Proud mum Joanna Beaver says: "Despite working full-time as a domestic assistant in a care home all way through this pandemic and even though her and two of her daughters suffer from asthma, she has also been a full-time mum to four gorgeous daughters. She has also been doing shopping and paying bills for her grandparents due to them not being allowed out due to being high risk, she's a true angel. She really is a hero and deserves a special mention." Photo: UGC
Proud parents Julie and Glen Shaw say: "We would like to nominate our daughter Eleanor Shaw who has taken on the role of a carer during the Covid-19 pandemic. She has successfully completed her training in lockdown and is 100 per cent committed to helping people. We are so proud of her courage and dedication." Photo: UGC
Kirstie Ball, who has nominated Rachael, says: "She a residential home manager and runs two homes with a variety of individuals who have learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge. We have daily challenges as a team without Covid-19, but she has managed to pull her entire staff teams through the hardest weeks with endless hours at work and home from medical emergencies, care plans to the constant updates of Covid-19 along with providing the demand of supplies within the homes to ensure her staff are and feel safe. Already challenging with less staff to cover shifts due to self isolating, shielding and maternity but staff also wanted to work and everyone pulled together.
I believe this woman needs to praise herself for her caring, compassionate side who put everyone else’s needs before her own who also had the challenges like others being away from precious family members. I believe we could have an entirely different circumstance without her and deserves the gratitude that she deserves.
Thank you Rachael Legg, don’t ever change - you're doing amazing." Photo: UGC
