AN ELDERLY pedestrian who was injured in a road traffic collision has died in hospital.
The victim, a 79-year-old man who has not been named, was struck by a Mitsubishi pick-up truck at 2.20pm on Friday, December 7, on St John’s Road, Chesterfield.
The man suffered a fractured pelvis and was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital for treatment.
But his condition deteriorated and the pensioner died on Tuesday evening, police have revealed.
A Derbyshire Police spokeswoman said: “We have started an investigation into the circumstances of the collision and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed it.”
