Pensioner attacked with meat cleaver in Doncaster

A 69-year-old man suffered potentially life changing injuries after being attacked with a meat cleaver in the early hours of yesterday morning.

At about 1.10am on Monday morning (21 March), it is reported that the victim was alerted to someone outside of his home in Marshland Road, Moorends.

When the victim went outside to confront the offender, who was riding a push bike, he was assaulted with what is believed to have been a meat cleaver.

The man suffered a minor facial injury and a serious and potentially life altering injury to his hand. He was taken to hospital where he currently remains in a serious but stable condition.

The offender is believed to have left the area heading south along Marshland Road.
