Pedestrian in serious condition after being hit by car in Sheffield

A pedestrian who sustained life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Sheffield yesterday remains in a serious condition.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened at 11am yesterday on Firth Park Road, near to the junction with Barnsley Road and Herries Road.

The car, a white Citroen C3 Picasso, was travelling towards Barnsley Road and Herries Road prior to the collision.

The pedestrian, a 41-year-old man, suffered serious and potentially life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital where he currently remains in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the Citroen, a 49-year-old woman, was not injured during the incident.

Witnesses are asked to call 101, quoting incident number 315 of April 18.
