Pedal towards green future

CLEAN air campaigners are backing a bid by Rotherham Council to persuade more people to jump on their bikes.

An on-line cycling map produced by the council is aimed at getting more people to give up their cars and use alternative ways of getting around.

The map is now being highlighted by the South Yorkshire-based clean air campaign group Care4Air as part of its contribution to European Mobility Week.

The e-map covers 14 miles of the National Cycle Network in Rotherham, 28 miles of the Trans Pennine Trail, and part of the towpath between Rotherham and Sheffield.

Care4Air spokesman Mark Daly said: “The new cycle map in Rotherham offers anyone already thinking about cycling an accessible and easy way to plan their journey safely.”
