The Peak District National Park Authority has welcomed seven new members to its governing body - including a former farmers’ leader.
Edale farmer Robert Helliwell, a former Derbyshire National Farmers’ Union chairman and member of the Land Managers Forum, was among two people appointed by the Environment Secretary.
A further member was elected by parish councils and four appointed by councils within the national park.
Mr Helliwell said: “There are many challenges facing Park land managers, so let’s hope I can do my bit to make that management easier and give greater benefit to the national park.”
Another new member is Frances Beatty, a former director of the Country Land and Business Association.
