‘Get Here’– that’s the message the Peak District is sending to the world as its new tourist video goes viral.

The official tourist board of Visit Peak District and Derbyshire have teamed up with X Factor contestant Chelsea Redfern and young musicians from a Bakewell school to create an exciting new tourist video.

The two minute video combines footage of the Peak district with the song Get Here, sung by Chelsea. The song was originally a 1990s hit for Oleta Adams.

Accompanying Chelsea on the song are young musicians from the Lady Manners school on strings, piano and bass guitar.

Chelsea, who got to the final 16 girls on X Factor this year, said: “I feel so privileged to be involved in this project, as I am very proud to be from such a beautiful part of the world.”

The footage aims to lure tourists into the area by showing scenery, attractions and activities, history and heritage of the area.

David Thornton, from Visit Peak District and Derbyshire said: “Both the words and images perfectly encapsulate the simple, but effective message we will be trying to convey to prospective visitors as part of our ongoing marketing work to reach as wide an audience as possible.”
