Peak District rescue teams help man who fractured leg during walk

A party of 21 mountain rescue team volunteers helped a man who tripped and fractured his leg while walking in the Peak District.

The alarm was raised on Saturday afternoon when the 59-year-old from Gloucestershire, fell on a footpath between the Blue John Cavern and Treak Cliff Cavern near Castleton.

He was treated by paramedics from Edale mountain rescue team before being transferred to a nearby ambulance and driven to the Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport, for further treatment.
