A 22-year-old woman was rescued after suffering an ankle injury in the Peak District.

The woman from London was part of a Duke of Edinburgh expedition out in the Peak District over the Easter weekend.

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team was called out on Saturday evening by the group.

She was eventually found on Harden Clough on the south side of the Edale Valley.

Following treatment, she was carried on a mountain rescue stretcher down to a nearby road and then transported in one of the rescue team’s vehicles to Edale so an ambulance could take her to hospital.
