Peak district matron Melissa Dalton will be popping up a lot over the next few weeks – on posters, billboards, and on screen – as one of the faces of the national NHS Stay Well This Winter campaign.

Melissa is matron for urgent care in the minor injury units at Whitworth Hospital, Darley Dale and Buxton Hospital, both run by Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust. She was chosen by NHS England to appear in the public campaign.

She is one of a handful of nurses – out of nearly 378,000 qualified nursing staff nationally – to get a taste of model life as part of promoting self-help tips for staying healthy during the winter.
