A new ‘bike bus’ will transport cyclists across the Peak District thanks to a £260,000 grant.

The bespoke service will cover Bakewell, Buxton, Matlock and surrounding areas.

Government money will also be used by Peak Park chiefs to make four youth hostels more cycle friendly – including those at Edale and Eyam.

Coun Andrew McCloy, of the Peak District National Park Authority, said it new funding would give ‘added momentum to the growth of cycling’.
