RESIDENTS have a new link from their village with the unveiling of a new path linking a housing estate to a popular recreation site.
The new 216m path connects North Anston’s Greenlands Estate with Colliery Park - the former Dinnington Pit site - and has been created with the aim of ensuring families can make the short walk in all weathers.
The scheme was the idea of local residents including Len Fowkes and Coun Judy Dalton, Rotherham Council’s ward member for Anston and Woodsetts.
The path runs over council-owned land and provides a key link between existing paths through nearby woodland.
Mr Fowkes said: “This footpath is the result of some excellent joined-up thinking.”
