It was only as dementia charity volunteer Pauline Masheder was about to receive her retirement gift, that she came to an important decision - she wasn’t ready to leave!

Pauline, of Barnsley, has spent the past decade working with Lost Chord, a charity that provides vital interactive musical sessions for people living with dementia.

After initially deciding she was ready to retire, Pauline had a change of heart - just as Lost Chord Chief Executive Helena Muller was about to present her with her leaving gift.

Helen said: “She was having serious second thoughts and we’re thrilled she’s decided to stay on a while longer.”
