A healthcare partner is preparing to cycle 240 miles from Southampton to Sheffield to raise thousands for charity.

Paul Hopewell, who works for The Health Insurance Group, is aiming to raise £4,800 to pay for a new ventilation unit for the King’s Mill Specialist baby unit in Mansfield, where his prematurely-born son was cared for 15 years ago.

The 45-year-old will set on the challenge on Saturday morning and will be aiming to arrive in Sheffield by midnight along with 23 other cyclists.

Paul will be supported by Olympic silver and bronze medal winning pursuit cyclist Bryan Steel after the pair spent the last six months training together.
