It’s all down to the last day again. Let’s hope we can make it a final day to remember just like this time last year at Brentford.

It’s quite ironic how James Coppinger was the man to score that goal which took us to the ‘promised land’ last year, and it was he who opened the scoring for us on Saturday against our bogey side Reading to give us a boost in our survival quest. Unfortunately the fairytale did not last as we were pegged back - by another penalty - then two late goals condemned our fate.

I’m glad the players did a lap of honour to mark our final home game after the game even despite the result.

Thankfully we were thrown a lifeline when Birmingham lost at home to Wigan on Tuesday night so it makes for another dramatic final day shootout.

Whatever the result, it will be nervous party atmosphere for Rovers. We have 2,000 fans making the trip and there are 12 supporters coaches making the journey. We’re all sporting fancy dress too.

It wouldn’t be Donny Rovers if we didn’t do it this way would it? Let’s raise the roof and cheer the lads on!

Unfortunately I have to report on some sad news this week following the deaths of two much-loved Rovers fans.

Peter Coulson, whom I have known since the 70s, was always proud to show off his Supporters’ Club badge with the dates going back to the 50s. He always dressed smartly - sporting his distinguised ‘tasche - and he always had time to talk all things Rovers.

Another was Terry Bennett. He was a regular on our away coach for many years.

Our condolences go out to both families.

Fans travelling on the coaches on Saturday, departure times are: Retford 8.30am, Harworth 8.35am, Bawtry/Rossington 8.45am, Hare and Tortoise/Sprotborough Ivanhoe 8.50am, Infirmary 9am and the Keepmoat at 9.15am.

Fares are £13 for adults, £12 for OAPs and £11 for u16s. Please add £2 for non-members.

Your allocated coach lists will be up in the Bike Shelter - near car park one - from tonight.

Please take a look so that we can get away on time.

We are also running coaches from the North Branch, from the Carcroft, the A19 corridor. Call 07780 316923 for more details.

Let’s be loud and proud of the lads on Saturday and cheer them on throughout, RTID!
