A SHEFFIELD man is scaling Africa’s highest freestanding mountain to help the nation’s people.

Money raised by Paul Amphlett, of Heeley, will help a Sheffield charity to work with people in Kenya so they can find clean water and power sources.

His first fundraising event is a race night on Sunday, May 5, at Sheffield United’s ground in Bramall Lane.

Paul, who needs to raise £2,500 to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, said: “To achieve my target I will be putting myself through all kinds of challenges, from triathlons to bungee jumps.”

n Race night tickets cost £2 and are available from Paul on 07843 239135.
