SHEFFIELD singer-songwriter John Reilly and his Canadian pianist Lewis Nitikman have a special double celebration gig tonight (Sunday, April 7) - they share the same birthday weekend, writes Graham Walker.
And to mark the occassion they are inviting fans to party with an intimate acoustic set at The Greystones backstage room, Greystones Road, Sheffield, from 8pm.
It’s billed as an evening with John, who is the voice of Boy on a Dolphin and Acoustic Angels.
But John, whose birthday was yesterday, has worked on most of his solo projects in the past few years with close friend Lewis, whose birthday is today.
Fans can join the party - tickets are just £8 - with a concert to showcase songs from John’s latest album Zebulon and favorites from his Tea Cozy Hat, plus Boy on a Dolphin albums.
The two pals are promising lively chat with the audience and stories behind some of the new songs, which are now being heard on BBC Radio 2 and stations all over the world.
Pianist, songwriter and composer Lewis, from Vancouver Canada, will share the stage at this up close and personal evening of original, moving, passionate songs. A chance to chill, listen and relax.
Here’s what celebrity fans have had to say about John’#s talent and work:
* PAUL O’GRADY – BBC RADIO 2:”Fantastic album, Brilliant voice. Out of 5 I’d give it a 10.”
* GRAHAM NORTON – BBC RADIO 2: “I’ve simply got to see him live!”
