ELDERLY people were given the best gift of all for Christmas – a happy smile – from Rotherham students.
Those living in the area around St Pius X Catholic High School, Wath upon Dearne, were invited to enjoy a traditional Christmas celebration with students.
About 100 people were treated to a special tea and took home a present from the annual event.
A school spokesman said: “The Christmas party is one of the highlights of the school year.
“It has been held in the school hall for more than 30 years and hosted about100 guests who were treated to a Christmas tea and entertained by a number of students from the school.
“The students collect money each year to pay for the party as part of their charity fundraising.
“Every guest left with a present and a smile on their face.”
