Chesterfield Council will be opening one of its depot car parks for Spireites fans when remaining home games are held this season.

The car park, which can take up to 70 vehicles, is at Old Brick Works Lane, near the Crown and Anchor pub and only a few minutes’ walk from the B2net Stadium.

The car park was due to be open from 1pm to 5.30pm today, with motorists charged £3 per car.

Coun Graham King, of Chesterfield Council, said: “Parking does cause problems for residents around Whittington Moor when it’s a matchday so hopefully, by opening up this car park, it will relieve some of these problems.”
