The empty black Mini was parked in Bagshot Street earlier today when it started to move, only coming to a stop in Sharrow Vale Road.

No-one was hurt, but the road was blocked and police were called to tow it away. Twitter user Shahid Ali, who posted a photo of the car, said officers arrived at about 4.15pm.

Mr Ali said: "The handbrake was still on, so we couldn't push the car anywhere. It had slowly rolled down Bagshot Sreet and stopped in Sharrowvale Road, luckily not hitting a parked car.

"I was driving past at 3.05pm and noticed it there. A lady was stood next to it. As it was nearing school time at Hunters Bar, that area gets very busy with traffic at that time.

"We phoned the police twice and they eventually turned up at about 4.15pm. We acted as traffic wardens for that period of time."

It is not yet known where the owner was.
