Park users cry foul at scheme

Have your say

ROTHERHAM Rugby Club has won an appeal against refusal to allow floodlights and fencing at its base on Herringthorpe playing fields.

The club successfully challenged Rotherham Council’s decision – but now must agree a lease with the same authority before the project can go ahead.

Park users have formed a campaign called Hands off Herringthorpe objecting to ‘privatisation’ of the public fields.

The group will be out on the field collecting signatures between 1.30pm and 2.30pm on Saturday.
