Park to host free coaching

Have your say

SHEFFIELD Homes and Sheffield Wednesday have teamed up to offer a whole week of football fun.

Free coaching sessions are being held in Greenhill Park and run from Monday until Friday next week, between 11am-3pm.

Along with coaching in shooting, attacking and defending there will also be afternoon tournaments, with medals and trophies for the winners.

The events are in addition to weekly coaching sessions which have been held at Greenhill Park throughout the summer holidays, on Mondays, from 4.30pm- 6.30pm.

Football training sessions are also being held at Constable Road playing fields, Gleadless Valley, from 5pm-6.30pm on Tuesdays, and Batemoor Park, from 6.30pm-8pm on Mondays, all of which are open to both boys and girls, aged eight to sixteen years.

The sessions are being funded with a £12,000 grant from Sheffield Homes, which was approved by tenants in the area through the housing firm’s Your Community Your Choice initiative.
