Park Hill garages could become studios for artists

Disused garages at Park Hill could become temporary studios for artists as part of a multi-million plan to create a cultural hub at the site.

S1 Artspace has applied for planning permission to convert the garage, in the shadow of the Duke Street block of flats.

The gallery hopes to invest £21 million to create a new home in the Duke Street wing.

According to the plans for the garages, the aim is to create ‘functioning studio spaces for young and established artists’.

Long term, the proposal is to demolish the garages and landscape the area.
