Paralympics inspires woman

A DISABLED woman is gearing up to take part in a triathlon after being inspired by the Paralympics.

Mathy Selvakumaran, aged 22, from Worksop, is to take part in a Tri Together event, which will see her swimming, cycling and running.

The swimming enthusiast, who has congenital myopathy that affects the muscles in her arms and legs, said: “Watching the Paralympics really inspired me to get into sport.”

She will raise money for Leonard Cheshire Disability.
