Page Hall has changed so much over the years

I think Susan Grayson writes lovely letters with a meaning.

Page Hall

She mentioned Fir Vale and Page Hall.

I was brought up on Selby Road from age seven to 34 years.

I left school at 14. You had to get a job.

I lived next door to a bakehouse and I worked for sixteen years for four pounds a week.

I am 86 years old and the eldest of eight children. We were brought up to respect people. When the coalman did not come, my brother fetched coke in a pram.

At Christmas, we would carol sing, but now a lot don’t know the meaning of Christmas, they think it is just for beer and begging.

Page Hall had a cinema then.

It has changed very much.
