A SEXUAL predator from Sheffield jailed aged 83 for preying on young children and youths has died in hospital.
Douglas Lee, 87, of Richmond Park Rise, Handsworth, Sheffield, was transferred from the medical wing of Doncaster Prison - where he was serving a 10-year prison sentence - to Doncaster Hospital, where he died.
An inquest has been opened and adjourned by the Doncaster coroner. A post mortem examination found he died from natural causes.
His funeral takes place tomorrow - Tuesday, July 5, at 1pm at Hutcliffe Wood Crematorium on Abbey Lane in Beauchief.
Lee was convicted at Sheffield Crown Court in August 2006 of 12 sex offences against children, including indecent assault and rape. The abuse had begun more than 30 years earlier.
An appeal was dismissed and he was described by a judge as a “sexual predator who intimidated and dominated children”.
