VOLUNTEERS from Age UK Sheffield adopted the role of bag packers, to raise cash to combat Christmas loneliness.

Some 20 volunteers packed shoppers bags at Asda in Parson Cross, in return for donations to the cause.

Rosalind Eve, of Age UK, said: “The money will help support older Sheffielders, particularly those who are vulnerable or lonely this Christmas.

“Isolation can be very debilitating and our goal is to reduce its impact in Sheffield this Christmas.”
