The owner of Haddon Hall in Bakewell will be joined by a master stonemason as they give a tour of the property to talk about and demonstrate the restoration work carried out and still needed.

Lord Edward Manners and master stonemason Mark Eaton will conduct the tour on Thursday, May 19.

Restoration work on the building and grounds is an ongoing process, largely funded by income from visitors.

Lord Edward embarked on a 30 year restoration programme when he took ownership of the house in 1999, and since then a team of experts has been caring for areas of the building in need of renovation and repair.

Parts of the building are 900 years old.

As part of the tour visitors will be shown the recently restored Long Gallery and Ante-Room windows and learn about the process behind the work.

Future projects will also be discussed.

Lord Edward’s tour will also include the property owner’s findings after carrying out research into the history of the hall.

Tickets, which cost £40, are available on a first come first served basis.
