* A greyhound racing fan from Sheffield is on track for a paw-fect Christmas after winning a top prize!

Pete Dyson, from Malin Bridge, has been selected as the winner of Owlerton Greyhound Stadium and Grass Roots’ Christmas competition.

Pete will enjoy a Christmas party for four people at the Hillsborough dog track on Sunday, December 20.

The prize includes a four-course meal for four people in the award winning glass-fronted Panorama Restaurant, race cards, Christmas crackers, a Tote runner to take bets and a drinks table waiting service.

Pete said: “I’ve entered competitions before but not won! It feels great to be the winner!

“I’ve been to the restaurant a couple of times before, it’s always been lovely.”

Pete added: “I usually go to the races at Christmas. Friday nights are great, it’s a brilliant atmosphere.”

The live racing action will also befollowed by a performance from the Boybands Live tribute band singing Westlife, Boyzone, Take That’s greatest hits, and a disco.

It is just one of a number of extra dates added to the busy Owlerton racing calendar during December.

The meeting on Tuesday December 29, ill be followed by a Michael Jackson tribute act and free disco. There is also limited availability for the Boxing Day race meeting on Saturday, December 26.
