Outdoor pool in Hathersage to re-open after winter closure

Swimmers are set to take the plunge when Hathersage swimming pool re-opens later this month.

The heated pool will open on Saturday, March 19, with the outdoor swimming season - the 80th since the pool opened - running until October 29.

A spokesman said: “Winter is coming to an end and spring will soon be upon us. This can only mean one thing - Hathersage pool is opening its doors.

“With water heated to 28°C/82°F the pool can be enjoyed by all ages, whatever the weather, come rain or shine.”

To mark the launch of the new season a party will be held, with live music on the bandstand from 1pm -3pm.

Anyone who buys a season ticket beforehand can use the pool between Saturday, March 12 and Thursday, March 17.

Swimming lessons are available at the pool as well as adult only sessions and aqua fit.
