Order to close down car park

A LANDOWNER is set to be ordered to stop using the site of a former Sheffield cutlery works as a car park.

Sheffield Council’s city centre, south and east planning board has been recommended to approve enforcement action against owners of the former Richardson’s Cutlery Works site, Alma Street, Kelham Island, at a meeting on Monday.

Part of the site had temporary planning permission for use as a car park, which expired last October. But the use has continued and expanded to cover the whole site, planning officers said in a report.
