What a pathetic response from Sheffield Council regarding parking problems around Vincent Road and South View Road and which also affects other areas of Nether Edge and Sharrow.

Councillor Bob Johnson wheels out the old chestnut of Government cuts, which is now getting a bit boring when used as an excuse for every problem.

If cars are parking on pavements, yellow lines and generally causing an obstruction, then the solution is to slap a ticket on them and continue to do so in a volume resembling confetti.

We’ve got the traffic wardens, they’ve got the ticket books, so what’s the problem?

If that doesn’t work, then resort to wheel clamps.

It’s not rocket science.

This would also be another source of income for the council, if they bothered to collect the fines which, in many cases I have been reliably informed, does not happen.

I would suggest that the council’s inaction is for the same reason as the inaction on nearby Wolseley Road which appears with regularity in the letters page of The Star.

When is someone going to grab this PC hot potato and apply the law to everyone?

Reverse discrimination has now become a most unwelcome part of our so-called ‘fair and just society’.

And it is about time our ‘woke’ council woke up to this fact.
