Trees, buses and shops
I’m beginning to wonder if our council is capable
When it can’t cope with trees or the new bus timetable
Sheffield’s sad descent is causing much distress
With plans for the city centre shops an ever-changing mess
It would seem from all the petitions Sheffielders have signed
The councillors and the people are no longer well aligned
Maybe they should be taking the people’s good advice
As the so-called ‘experts’ don’t seem to be so wise
I’m sure we Sheffielders don’t wish to mock
But the council is becoming such a laughing stock
I and many Sheffielders believe we’ve lost our way
Perhaps Sheffield will shine again, but unfortunately not today!
