Today’s columnist, Michael Bell: Ideal time to set your goals

This year has been a phenomenal year for the businesses I work with through my Results Hub.

They’re all growing and they’re about to start checking their development over the past 12 months against the goals they set themselves at the end of December last year.

I always recommend they set their goals in the period between Christmas and New Year – I believe people are far better focused at that point in time.

If you’ve never set goals for your business (or your personal life come to that – I recommend they’re done for both) make a note and remember to do it a couple of days before New Year’s Eve.

Take your time and think of the things you really want to achieve.

Clear goal-setting is an integral part of business success. You’ll never achieve the results you want without them and they provide the direction as you move your company forward.

We’re also looking forward to our last networking event of 2015 on Friday (December 11).

If you’ve never been before it would be lovely to see you.

We’ve gone from Late, Late Breakfast to Late, Late Brunch as is now customary at this time of year.

We’ve a later start (9.30am) and we’re retiring to the pub after as it’s nearly Christmas!

One of our most popular and influential speakers – Glen McCoy – is returning to impart some incredibly powerful knowledge based on his latest book, Power Presenter.

There’s nothing more important in business than the ability to speak confidently to an audience but few people really do it well.

Whatever your level at the moment – Glen is promising to take you infinitely further in just a few hours.

Forget any presentation workshop you’ve ever been to before. The information that will be given will both inspire and surprise you.

You might find it surprising that the network starts at the Assay Office and ends in the pub!

Well it’s not surprising if you realise that a more social atmosphere will do more to cement business relationships than an office environment.

It’s where a new level of trust is developed.
