Stop these bikers

Without doubt the Police would respond with all their force; Dogs, the helicopter, armed police and officers pulled in from near and far until the situation had been made safe. And rightly so!

Yet every day we report just such persons on our streets, in our parks or even on the road and our complaints are ignored.

No officers are sent to make the situation safe, the dogs are not called and the helicopter remains on the ground. The reason? These criminals in question choose to use an illegal motorbike as their weapon of choice. Everyday the good, law-abiding people of Sheffield trying to enjoy our green city are intimidated and put at risk.

So what do the police do? They simply log the incident as nuisance motorcycling!

This problem is not new, indeed it has been discussed for at least five years and our local council even has a working group dedicated to illegal motorcycling, but still it remains a part of our daily life.

Enough is enough. It is time we put pressure on our politicians and the police to do something about this before we see any more injuries or even deaths. In the meantime, let's make sure the police and our council are aware of the extent of problem by reporting every suspect motorcyclist you see.
