Racecourse should honour Piggott

REGARDING the letter about naming the new stand at Doncaster Racecourse.

It should be named after Lester Piggott or Nijinsky. There’s only one Lester and, to paraphrase the late Max Miller, there’ll never be another, they don’t make them any more.

The Establishment deny him the knighthood he deserves. He went to prison; so did Lord Archer and he is still Lord Archer, so why not Sir Lester? If the stand is not named for him, how about a double-barrelled name ‘The Nijinsky-Piggott Stand.’ Somebody should honour the greatest jockey who ever lived.
