Place market in front of the cathedral!

MOST towns and cities have their outdoor market in front of their parish church or cathedral. The most well-known outdoor market in Yorkshire is in Kingston-Upon-Hull, which is in front of Holy Trinity Parish Church. It would turn a rather drab city centre into a brilliant feature, especially now that Sheffield Cathedral has been restored.

The rest of the market stalls could be sited on Fargate; the outdoor market would be near to the main attractions in Sheffield, mainly Orchard Square, Winter Garden, Millennium Gallery, Peace Gardens etc, and it would be ideal to get to by public transport.
