Parking on pavements

I couldn’t agree more, regarding your editorial in the Star, outlining the inconsiderate parking on pavements.

However, if a law is passed by MPs, to outlaw this situation, it may cause more problems than it solves.

On many roads in Sheffield, if cars did not park half on the pavement, then there would be no room for cars to pass, and no way that buses could travel down narrowed roads. A classic example is Nethergreen Road.

The solution is simple. Double yellow lines down one side of every suburban road. Of course there would be squeals of protest from all those car drivers with nowhere to park their cars.

And that opens up a new can of worms!
