New roads but slower traffic

Sheffield Council had better realise what a mess they are making of the roadworks near the Wicker Bridge.

It’s taken a long time for the works to be finalised but they are causing more pollution in Sheffield by stopping the flow of traffic, just to get up Spital Hill from town.

You drive towards the bridge and you used to just turn left to get up Spital Hill but now you have to go round a stupid bend they have added to the road just to get to the other side of the Wicker Bridge.

And getting back from Darnall, there were three lanes, one for buses, the others for cars but now on the Wicker there’s just one direct road, causing more pollution.

Why does Sheffield City Council always build roads and then end up slowing the flow of traffic ?
