Navy cut to bone
I HAVE followed the HMS Sheffield saga with great interest. It still amazes me what utter contempt Labour councillors have for the people of Sheffield, especially ex RN & RM.
Would the councillors of Leeds demand the renaming of HMS Ark Royal, their affiliated ship? I think not. The reason there will not be another HMS Sheffield is that the Labour government has cut the Navy to the bone, this despite 95% of all trade to and from the UK going by sea. Russia, China & India are investing billions in their navies. Even the French now have a larger navy than us. But this Government sells off our warships to Chile at car boot prices.
